We build household furniture in Masai, Johor, and we build it to last.
A Workshop, Not A Warehouse
SofaCrafters is a small team of carpenters, upholsterers and delivery hands who make sofas, beds, dining sets and storage for Malaysian homes.

The trade, the team and the standards we hold
Built By Hand, Backed By Name
Furniture making is an old trade in Johor, and most of what we know came from people who learned it before us. Our head carpenter served his time repairing sofas and cabinets, which is the fastest education there is in how furniture fails. Take apart enough broken pieces and you stop guessing. You learn that the frame gives way at the corner joints, that veneer lifts where the glue was thin, and that a cushion collapses because somebody saved a few ringgit on foam density. We built our workshop around fixing every one of those failures before they happen.
The team is small and it stays small on purpose. There are carpenters cutting and joining frames, upholsterers cutting fabric and stretching covers, a finisher who sands and seals, and a delivery crew who load the lorry and carry the work into your home. Most of them live a few kilometres from the workshop. When a customer calls with a problem, the person who answers can walk twenty steps and ask the person who built the piece what happened. Nothing goes into a ticketing system to die.
Materials are where we refuse to bend. Frames are kiln-dried hardwood, jointed and screwed rather than stapled together. Seat foam is chosen by density rating and wrapped in fibre for comfort without sag. Fabrics are picked for rub count and how they handle humidity, because a beautiful upholstery that goes musty in a Malaysian December is not a beautiful upholstery. Where we can, we buy from suppliers we have used for years and can hold to account.
We also believe furniture should be fixable. Cushions can be refilled, panels can be replaced, and legs can be swapped. Our orders stay on file, so a customer who calls in seven years can get the exact fabric or the exact leg height they had the first time. Every frame carries a ten-year guarantee, and repairs are quoted honestly, including the times we tell someone the fix is not worth doing.
Our ambition is not to be the biggest furniture name in Malaysia. It is to be the one your family recommends because the sofa in your living room is still comfortable ten years after it arrived.
